It was a break even weekend for the Pennsylvania side of the family, or so it seemed from this side of the world. Bill tried very hard to record the Pen state game, only to have the memory stick he just bought not work. But the next morning he woke up bright and early 6:30 to watch the Eagles win. So he didn't actually have to watch Pen state loose, which was for the best. Unfortunately we had designed a football team night together Sunday night to watch the game. All the Bowers were dressed in their Penn state gear, including the newest little Bowers and his new outfit from Gramma and Grandpa Bowers. Thank you because he looked great and festive and I am sure to dress him up again for next week's game. (This is how I get to play dress up with my boy!)

We Are...

Fire Fire Fire!
Boys will be boys, but grown men are even more entertaining to watch. Bill is a wonderful dad and has taken on the project of planting grass behind our house. He has gotten permission from our land lord to have the field behind our house to plant grass. Planting grass though is a bit of work. First we needed to clean up the field of garbage and weeds, next we will have to level and remove rocks, then finally plant plugs of grass. Thankfully we live in a country of NO fire codes and cheap labor. Our neighbor up stairs who has a baby girl is also excited with the prospect of having a safe place for the kids to play. So Sunday morning the two men set out to clean the field of weeds and garbage in one foul swoop. And within 3 minutes we had 7 men and 10 little boys standing around watching the flames. And after 10 minutes we had a weed and garbage free field. Amazing that at any age it still excites them. And now there is talk of renting a mini bulldozer for a team mates birthday!
October Already!
It is almost October! Wow the month flew bye, well across the Atlantic and back again to be exact. Back track. It was almost a month ago, the first Monday of the month that I got the news that one of my closest friends was hurt. One of the ladies in this world I hold dearest was in the hospital. And after much prayer and a few long hours on the internet finding an air line ticket Zaky and I were on our way back to Texas. My Gramma needed an encouraging visit, and what's more encouraging then a 18 lb. infant in your bed? I still can't think of one (although a pumpkin spice latte would be nice on occasion : ) Our visit was just what I had hoped, not to stressful, many hours just sitting around with each other, and plenty of opportunities to hug my gramma. Since being back I have enjoyed the pleasures of a jet lagged infant. But it was well worth it. I love you Gramma.
