Potty's Log

I retract my last blog entry. I must go now, have to scrub poo off the couch. And for all future house guests, I am not going to specify which couch.

We Have Sucess

What ever accident may come after today, today will be the day I consider Zaky "potty proficient"
He sleeps in a diaper (books say for several more months), but as soon as he woke up from his nap he went on the toilet to poo poo. He still had his diaper on, BUT he was over the toilet! And the fact that I never had to clean poop out of the potty chair is a big accomplishment for us both! Everyone please celebrate with us, and treat yourselves to an M&M, or a Whopper if #2....

1 year and opposite direction

The difference in these pictures is that Zaky has aged 1 year, now throws a fit when he sits in the cart for longer then 10 min, and in the bottom shot is going toward the meat section where as the top shot is going away from the meat. But one thing has stayed the same...

End of day 3

We had success outside, sort of. He refused to pee outside, Sandra was watching and he is a gentleman, I took the potty downstairs and he used it in the stairwell. So technically he used the potty, but most important he stayed dry.

Battle wounds

Yo is a trooper. I noticed he would crawl then sit up, then crawl and sit up. Then I noticed what I thought was watermelon juice on the rose carpet. Poor little Yo has a crawling blister and it bled on the floor, so sad. What this little one will do in the name of progress.

Potty Log day 3

I am beginning to think this will take longer then 3 days. He started the morning insisting to keep his pants on, no diaper. This lasted until his morning juice kicked in. Our outing was unsuccessful, unless you count me taking him to the neighbor's toilet 3 times without result, then him find you with his wet pants around his knees successful. Change of pants in hand we stayed another half hour, why not? I have plans for salty snacks and juice box this afternoon.

Day 2 continued

He had another successful poop in the big potty, although i carried him in running at the sight of his face turning red! My back has been hurting since this whole thing began, I have figured out why. In the evening he played outside, we offered him the corner of the grass several times (benefit of having boys), but he did not go for that. I went upstairs to feed Yo, and a bit later there was an emphatic knock and yell Mommy, MOMMY, I opened the door and rushed him to the toilet! Ya... He did ask for chocolate after this.

Potty Log day 2

The days not done yet, BUT...
We have had 2 successful poops in the big potty (I was not going to clean poop out of the potty chair, this is something I do not do for for less then 30$ an hour)
The second poop was all his initiative, so exciting
Our outing was unsuccessful, but he was playing in the sand with the neighbor and completely distracted (not his fault, but he was covered and caked with sand : (
He has stopped asking for chocolate and now pees mater of factly, he also washed his own hands.

OK enough bragging...

Potty Log: day 1

Much preperation has gone into this day: the potty seat is on, potty chair in place, M&M's in supply, pee pee dance established. The weather was nasty today so after removing this morning's diaper we decided now was as good a time as any. The rubber sheet was put in place on the couch, which immediately gave return. But after the mishaps on the couch he used the potty chair, then proudly pointed at his creation and yelled "I did it". The highlight of the day came after his nap in which he sat on the potty and peed, following this Zaky was playing in the kitchen, got down from the chair, and ran into the living room, and sat on the potty!

The picture was from our potty parade...

I made bread all by myself

I could blame it on Zaky for eating the dough, but it was probably because I was short about 3 cups of flour. It tasted good enough, but not something gramma would be proud of.

Cookies

I was feeding Jonas outside while Bill and Zaky were in the grass down below. After a bit I called down to ask where Zaky was, he was on his way up the stairs. Such a big boy, he comes upstairs, knocks, takes his shoes off, all by himself. He then helped himself to a cookie and offered one to his brother.

HE IS CRAWLING!!

Over a weeks time he went from a pull and a grunt to scooting across the floor. He so much more content now, he can spend half an hour rolling and crawling across the floor going after a toy - grabbing - crawling after it again, then Zaky comes over and quick snatches it away. But funny Jonas is just happy to have the attention.

The apple does not far fall

He loves to grocery shop like his Grampa Ludlow, and he loves to eat the samples like his grandma

Donalds

After a hard afternoon of playing he was rewarded with an ice cream, unfortunately he had to share the frys with his Dad

No more monkeys jumping on the bed

But no one said anything about jumping on the couch
